Alison MaitlandAlison is a business writer, commentator and conference moderator, who specialises in leadership, women in business and corporate responsibility.

She spent 20 years at the Financial Times, the last eight as Management Writer. Since going independent in 2006, Alison has co-written a book called Why Women Mean Business: Understanding the emergence of our next economic revolution.

Alison is Director of the European Work-Life & Diversity Council of The Conference Board, the leading business membership and research organisation, and is a Senior Visiting Fellow in the Faculty of Management at Cass Business School, London.

She has worked on projects with organisations including Business in the Community, International Women of Excellence, and the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, and she served on the advisory group for the Equal Opportunities Commission's 2007 investigation into the Transformation of Work. Recent speaking/moderating engagements have included Chatham House's Sense & Sustainability, the Echo Research Summit on Responsible Leadership, and the Women's Forum for the Economy & Society in Deauville.
