Alison is a frequent conference speaker, chair and moderator. As co-author of Why Women Mean Business, she has spoken at book events in London, New York, Toronto, Paris, Brussels and Oslo. She has talked on gender and leadership at public conferences, and at internal events at companies such as Citi, Royal Dutch Shell and Unilever.

Recent engagements have included the International Monetary Fund’s seminar for International Women’s Day 2009 and the first ever Women’s Economic Summit in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Alison moderated a discussion on women in economic decision-making at the European Union’s 2009 conference on Gender Equality, and she chaired and spoke at the Institute of Chartered Accountants’ 2008 conference, Narrowing the Gap.

Since 2007, Alison has worked with The Conference Board, one of the world's leading business membership and research organizations, as Director of the European Council for Diversity in Business, a peer-to-peer network of senior executives. In this consulting role, she leads The Conference Board’s European meetings programme on diversity and inclusion and helps to shape its research. In 2008, she directed its Budapest conference on Talent in the New Europe.
